Ang kantang ito na yata ang pinakamabilis kong natapos gawin, kasing isang araw bigla na lang pumasok sa utak ko yung konsepto at yung lyrics. Kinabukasan, natapos ko na din yung music at narecord ko na ng buo yung kanta. Medyo katulad din ng kanta kong Magkasama, na isang araw ay bigla na lang sumulpot sa isip ko.

Basically, ang kantang ito ay ang kwento ng isang lalaking nahihirapan sa relationship nila ng kanyang kasintahan, pero handa siyang ipaglaban ito at hindi nya ipagpapalit ito kahit na puro problema. Kaya naman dinaan na lang niya sa kanta ang kanyang nararamdaman.

As far as I know, This is my first song. At that time, I didn’t want to write a song about love just to be different. I wanted to write a song that’s about anything but love. I also wanted it to be a rap song because I know that I’m no good in singing. I tried putting things together and Shast was the result.
Shast is a character that I made. My classmates back in high school were into making their own characters. Of course, I had to make one of my own. I had a hard time giving him a name, so my friend Errol helped me out and came up with Shast. I liked it so I stuck to it.
Shast was the perfect topic for my song that’s not about love. It simply describes him and his life. I actually already uploaded this song on imeem years ago, but I plan on remaking it with a more “band” feel (because it has a solo-artist-RnB feel to it). I want this song to be a danceable song so that it makes up for the nonsense lyrics (No one really listens to the lyrics of a danceable song, right? hehe)…

This is probably the first song that I have written that is about love, but it took me more than a year to finish the lyrics. This song was supposedly dedicated to my first girlfriend. I started to write this song right after our bitter break up, thus the title “Walang Balikan”. Everything’s fine now, though. I hate the thought of just abandoning this song so I finished it anyway. This is no great literature. There are no mind-blowing verses. I am not a good writer especially when it comes to poems. I use the shallowest of words, but I hope the idea comes through.
When something bad happens, you don’t want it to happen again. So to avoid another bitter break up, I simply told myself na wala nang balikan.. hehe…

I’ve always wanted to make songs. It turns out that I’m not very good at it. But I still do it anyway. I’ve written a few songs and even recorded some of them. My voice sucks, by the way. When I find a better singer with a better voice to sing my song, I might upload them. As for now, I’ll just show the lyrics.
This song is entitled “Magkasama” and is dedicated to Mai (This is one of the few times I mention a name in any of my entries). If you know our story, then just keep it to yourself. If you don’t, I’m sorry. Just try to keep up with the song.
Obviously, the song is about being together. My inspiration for this song is the song “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” and I tried to incorporate the message of the song in this one. Of course, the main inspiration is the current situation I/we were in when I wrote the song. I really like this song even though it’s not applicable anymore…
